Understanding language use and learning in real-life contexts
My research combines quantitative and qualitative approaches to investigate how people use and learn additional languages. I also have a keen interest in interdisciplinary research, methods development and validation, and technology-supported interventions for second language learning.
Mixed research methods
Development and validation of new research tools, and combining qualitative and quantitative methods to answer complex research questions.
Educational interventions
Technology-supported or classroom-based strategies to encourage individuals to use their second language(s) more often.
UX & persuasive design
Applying principles from persuasive technology and user research to creatively solve problems in language research and teaching.
